You'll never guess what we're all smiling about at Fiddlesticks. Give up? It's Smile! Only the cutest book just released. Smile! is a fun adventure starring Sunny- a cute little girl who is desperately trying to find her smile that she has lost. Sunny searches everywhere for her smile & even cleans her room in an attempt to find it. Smile! is an adorable book that captures the innocence of childhood, and uses modern language that your little one will relate too. The D.I.Y. (do it yourself) movement is huge right now in San Francisco- between the opening of The Workshop this year and amazing local artists like Baby Leo, and local authors Lorena Siminovoch & Sara Gillingham (In My Tree & In My Nest) there is so much home spun love to embrace. It's great to see that the "gift of making" is crossing over to kids and their toys selections too.

I still remember the D.I.Y. Kits my Grandma would stock for us when we'd come to visit & let me tell you, my sisters and I spent hours making- and then hours telling about our creations. The ownership that comes with creating is priceless, and so so so much FUN!!!

It gave me great pause when I found a poem printed in the inside of a Tea dress while doing the laundry yesterday. It reads:

Everyday they inspire us...
They make us laugh.
They sing and dance and run and spin.
They know what is important.
The love to love.
Kids remind us to play
...every day.

When I got to the store today I immediately started checking all of Daily Tea to see if it was just this one dress. Nope...it's ALL OF THEM. How incredibly cool is that??! It made me smile - BIG. It's still resonating.
